It’s a Michigan Summer!
I hope that all of you are enjoying the dog days of summer, and the great corn, blueberries and abundant Michigan produce. It’s a little too humid for me personally, but I keep recalling winter and reminding myself to be grateful! We are blessed with abundance in our state, in garden abundance, heat or cold, and now even in volunteer opportunities. Many of you have been checking your ‘in boxes’ and have noticed the many appeals to donate your time and talent. In part, this may be due to the fact that schools are not sending students out into the community as part of their student experience. Massage Board Update
The most recent Massage Board meeting in Lansing has produced some great results! They have approved the wording to require 500 hours of massage school training to be supervised by a person, and at least 40 hours of supervised clinic time as well. They also approved the following tests as acceptable for licensure-EMBLex, NCETM, NCETMB, and NCBTMB. There is still much work to be done before applications will be accepted, but this is great progress by a dedicated group of individuals.
